The Spirit of the Lord Flows through our lives and our world, he is everywhere. The Spirit is with us no matter where we are, whom we are with, or what we are doing. In our busy lives we are often so surrounded with the stimuli of living that we often tune out God and the Flow of The Spirit through our lives.

Psalm 139:1-3, 7-10, 14
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways…..Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast…..I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Taking time out of hectic schedules should not be considered an indulgence, but a necessity. We cannot, as stewards of God, forget that we are but a part of his creation. God is the Creator of everything, and His presence is in everything. There is a Flow that permeates every part of our world; is every part of our world. The Holy Spirit is this Flow. As is a bird is affected by the wind, or a trout affected by the water in it’s stream, we are affected by the Flow, and at the same time, part of the Flow. What we do affects everything around us. We can struggle against it, try to pretend it doesn’t exist (as it plummets us forward), or move with this Flow. Our lives go smoothly when we allow the Flow to carry us forward, and use the Flow(or allow the Flow to use us) and the tools God has given us to direct our lives. When we turn our lives over to Christ, we embrace this Flow and become part of it.
Making time to listen to God, and realize that we are part of His creation often require that we (as Christ did), withdraw to a lonely place and pray.
